Another Last Minute Gift Idea

Did you manage to finish everyone's gifts? Target and Starbucks both have wonderful hot/cold Travelling Tumblers that allow you to create your own designs for them! A great way to make use of this is to grab up a digital scrapbooking kit (or get a clean scan of a layout that you make) and print it on glossy paper or even plain copy weight paper! (I love owning a small ream of glossy paper from the office supply stores! It's great for alcohol inks, Posh Rainbow Sponges, and other inking techniques . . . It's also wonderful for using with Versafine Ink Pads and photographic rubber stamps!)

You can taper your images to match the shape of your tumbler, like I did, or simply scrap away! Plus, you can continue to give new designs as gifts at each new holiday or birthday!

Retro Midsommar

Insulated Tumbler Liner - Club Scrap Digital Retro Trial Kit
This layout is printed on a sheet of glossy paper (not cardstock, but lighter weight paper) and trimmed to fit a slightly tapered "Create Your Very Own Tumbler" from Starbucks with a little modification for some other tumblers as holiday gifts! How could I resist this photo! A woman at IKEA made Uatchet's wreath on the left and I made Nekhebet's on the right at their Midsommar Festival this year!

Here is another version of the same layout, altered to fit on a smaller mug and with a coffee theme for the children's teachers and Scout Leaders. The photo is one that I took when we visited the American Girl Place Cafe in NYC this year!

My Butterfly Digital Calendar for 2007!

These calendar pages were all created with Club Scrap's 2007 Digital Calendar Kit! I altered the lighting, hue, and color on many of the pages as well as having added custom frames, text, and my own photographs and then printed them all out at 8"x10" to give in Acrylic Box Frames as gifts! The printed versions are slightly paler than the web versions because I printed on plain white cardstock.

Stenciling Revisited Tutorial!

Please check out my new Stenciling Revisited Tutorial(recently moved to this blog)!

Stenciling Revisited

In the past, I had a bin full of stencils gathering dust. I used to look at them mostly as a tool to use as templates or with pencils, markers, and dry embossing stylus tools. But there are so many more ways to use them and create stunning results . . . If you have stencils that coordinate with your prints or your stamps, then there are so many more ways to tie them into your finished pieces! Why not use the inks that you are already using with your stamps on the same project, but incorporate your stencils into the work, or the same embossing powders, etc?

To use your ink pads, pair them up with some wonderful tools. There's the ColorBox Stylus, Ranger's Cut 'n' Dry Foam, cosmetic sponges, Ranger's Cut 'n' Dry Nibs, Provocraft's Chizzel-It, Niji's Waterbrush, regular paintbrushes, and more! Alternately you can use liquid or dimensional paints, dry embossing tools, Ranger's Perfect Medium Marker or VersaMark's Marker and embossing powders, pigment powders, or chalks, etc.

Visit my tutorial for all the details and images!
